Accreditation Support Grant Programme.

Since 2010 the Federation has received funding from the Welsh Government to offer grants to its members. The funding enables the Federation to advertise two grant rounds per year. The maximum grant amount is £10,000 (Spring) and £3000 (Autumn). Since 2010 museums have benefitted to the value of over £375,000.

Three independent Federation committee members assess the applications (with the priority given to supporting smaller projects) against the criteria of their relevance to the applicant’s forward plans, future aspirations and meeting wider targets and programmes, particularly the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act and the Museums Strategy for Wales. Successful projects include conservation and specialist equipment, outreach and lifelong learning projects, development of partnership working and professional advice. More recently the Federation has launched a separate Training and Conference Grant programme.

To apply for a grant applicants must be a member of the Federation and be an accredited (or working towards accreditation) museum.

Next round of grants is now available – closing date 12th October 2018 (midday).Details here.
